MILAN, Italy — 22 January 2026 — The Scientology Volunteer Ministers have brought their iconic Yellow Tent in Milan, creating a public, walk-up space for hands-on assistance and listening support, alongside everyday “Tools for Life” that can be applied to common challenges. Previously deployed in cities including New York, London, Paris, Berlin, Madrid, Rome and Naples, the Yellow Tent is designed to let residents meet trained volunteers directly and learn straightforward methods for communication breakdowns, workplace stress and conflict resolution, as well as support after personal emergencies.
Volunteer Ministers are local citizens trained through 19 introductory “Tools for Life” courses covering communication, study and learning methods, interpersonal relations and problem-solving. The approach is personal and practical: understand what the person faces and provide an actionable technique.
In Italy, Volunteer Ministers have supported communities during the 2009 L’Aquila earthquake and the 2012 Emilia-Romagna earthquakes, and have also news eu parlament assisted during recent floods in Marche (2022) and Romagna (2023), working alongside local institutions and civil protection actors to help remove mud and debris and restore access.
In Milan, activity expanded during the pandemic period with sanitisation efforts and support for families in need. Organisers say volunteers then continued with neighbourhood support, including over 160 consecutive Saturdays of community clean-up and support, extending across all nine municipalities of the city, while also contributing to solidarity efforts such as sending essential goods to Ukraine.
Ivan Arjona, Scientology’s representative to the EU, OSCE, Council of Europe and the United Nations, said: “Across Europe, we see that communities become stronger when citizens feel equipped to help one another in practical ways—calmly, respectfully and without prejudice. The Volunteer Ministers’ work reflects a simple civic idea: support begins with listening, and with offering tools that help people recover their ability to act and contribute.”
